The theme of birth is one that occurs frequently in the Bible. Many of the matriarchs in the Old Testament, like Sarah, Rebekah, and Rachel struggled with barrenness. It took divine intervention for them to conceive and give birth. We also see the contrast between barren and fruitful lands, as the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the wilderness into a land flowing with milk and honey. And, in the New Testament we see Jesus telling Nicodemus that he must be “born again.” The principle of spiritual birth is closely intertwined with promises of God. After all, one of the first promises God made to Adam and Eve was a seed, a man-child, that would crush the head of the serpent. In this Bible Study series, The Delivery Room, we are going to explore the many facets of spiritual birth and the ways in which it helps us to receive the promises of God.
This is a virtual Bible Study series that can be complete synchronously with weekly Zoom meetings, hosted by Abigail Barrett, or asynchronously with provided materials.
This first part of the Bible Study series, The Delivery Room, details the process of conceiving a promise from the Lord. It dives into the passage of 1 Samuel 1 & 2, as it focuses on life of Hannah and her journey through infertility.
