Love & Beauty Sermon, Pt. 6- Love Works for Good

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” -Romans 8:28

I would be remiss if I did not attempt to reconcile God’s love with the problem of evil. In other words, “If God loves me, then why did all these bad things happen to me?”

Funny story: I don’t have a satisfactory answer to that question. I can confidently say, “I don’t know.”

But, what I do know is that God loved us enough to allow His only begotten Son to suffer alongside us. He sent His Son to dies a gory death so that we would be saved. So, despite my suffering, I don’t doubt God’s love.

Romans 8:28 reassures me that all things work together for my good.

Romans 8:37 reassures me that I am more than a conqueror through Christ that loves me.

Romans 8:38 reassures me that neither death, nor the circumstances of my life will be able to separate me from the love of God.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
